How is it that puppies seem to be able to fall asleep anywhere.












In any position.















In positions that don't look comfortable at all.












When they are sleeping they look so sweet and innocent.

It is almost easy to forget that when they are awake they can be little terrors.

WATER

Little Watson loves the water!

So much so that she has been practicing the dog paddle in her water bowl.

In the hopes of curbing her indoor Olympic aquatic aspirations we bought her a dish with dividers in it.

Only a minor success.

Rather than wait until she attempted refining the backstroke in her water bowl, we got her a backyard pool.

She really loves playing with the water, especially when we're filling up her pool. She loves to bite at the water as it comes out the hose.

I am sure this habit of hers will lead to many future joys when bathing her, especially as she gets bigger.


The pool has turned out to be a great solution - for Watson. Now she can splash in the pool and immediately follow that with a bolt into the house.

New Best Friend

Well, actually, since Watson has entered our lives, I now have several new best friends.

They are the Essentials: 

• Spray cleaner
• Paper towels
• Carpet steam cleaner

I look forward to the day that I take Watson outside until she pees a couple of times, and then, she doesn't bolt back into the house, to immediately pee again.




I also look forward to the day when we head outside, and she doesn't stop to pee inside, just before she reaches the door.

Not that I am counting, but one day I had to clean the carpet 6 times. And then also the wood floor twice.

It will get better. I know it will. I know it will. I know it will.

Reality Check

We are re-learning the joys of life with a cute, sweet and adorable puppy. There is no denying that she is very cute. However,

REALITY CHECK:

1. We have overestimated her bladder capacity
2. We have underestimated the volume of her vocal chords
3. It is easy for her to be awake all night when she sleeps all day

She's Here!!!

Our bundle of joy has arrived from Florida.

Young Ms Watson is very cute with her fluffy coat.

John is totally smitten and I am sure she will have him wrapped around her little paw and doing back flips in no time.
