Choosing a Name

SEGDI (Southeastern Guide Dogs) has a fund raising program where a Sponsor donates money for the opportunity to name a Guide Dog puppy.

Our first Guide Dog puppy, Bucky, was named in tribute to his Sponsor's father.

Carol, Bucky's sponsor, very generously agreed to sponsor our next Guide Dog Puppy.

She then graciously gave us the opportunity to name our new puppy!

We wanted a name that personifies an intelligent, trustworthy and loyal assistant/partner that is always up for an adventure.

We compiled a list of potential names.

We kept circling back to the name "WATSON" - of Sherlock Holmes fame.

Carol agreed with us that "WATSON" is the perfect name for a Guide Dog - so "WATSON" it is!

We are very grateful to Carol for her generous contribution to SEGDI. And, we are thrilled that she allowed us the privilege of naming our puppy.

Many thanks Carol.

Puppy Photos

I think they are teasing us with photos of our new puppy.

It is just not fair!

How can a person resist?

PUPPY RAISE AGAIN? ANOTHER ONE? YES!!! YIKES!!!

Puppy Raising our first Guide Dog puppy, Bucky, was a great experience for us. We learned a lot, met great people and had a lot of fun. We miss him, but, are thrilled that he now has a great life in Florida with his forever dad.

After an international hiatus we are ready to Puppy Raise another Guide Dog puppy.

So now we have to refresh our memories on puppy training, puppy-proof the house, expect sleepless nights and be prepared to clean up puppy messes. YIKES!

Our new bundle of fluff was born May 26th, 2017 and is a golden retriever.

We foresee she will steal our hearts.
